STONE Book one

Excerpt from Book One

When she wouldn’t meet him in the eye, he gently lifted her chin until she looked at him. With the winter air blowing around them, he leaned in. Just before their lips touched, he spoke.

“You’re in the eye of the storm right now. In your heart, you know the other side of the storm is coming. I know you’ve been fighting for what feels like an eternity. Fighting to stay alive. Fighting to protect that little boy. Just, fighting. You’re tired and scared, and you know there’s still one more fight to win. When that time comes, I swear to you, you won’t be fighting alone. I will be wherever you are when you need me. Storms never last forever and this one is almost finished. When it’s over, I want you to remember something. What you’ve become to survive, isn’t who you’ll always be.”
